Most people do not feel unwell during their flight but if you do, your instructor will show you how to deal with this and of course, you will always have the option of returning to the airport and landing to get some fresh air.
What clothes should I wear?
Comfortable clothes are a must! Please wear flat shoes and if it’s a cold day, bring a warm coat. Sunglasses are advisable unless it is very cloudy.
Can I bring a camera?
Yes – you can take photos during your flight. If you take some good ones, make sure to put them on Facebook and Twitter, and tag us!

If you live locally, your instructor may be able to take you flying over your house. This is subject to airspace and other air traffic.
How long does it take to get a Private Pilot Licence?
There are a number of factors to consider when estimating how long it takes to complete your Private Pilot Licence. Although the minimum hours required is 45 hours flight training, few can achieve this without ensuring regular flying lessons, no aircraft downtime and a run of good weather. Most student pilots take between 50 and 60 hours of flight training before taking their Private Pilot test flight.
Can I park/hangar my aircraft with you for a few weeks?
Waterford Aero Club enjoys direct airside access at Waterford Airport and for this reason, all Club members involved in flying activities must undergo an airport security course and screening. We would suggest that the turnaround time for this may not make our parking or hangarage worthwhile. Parking at Waterford Airport for a short time period is usually a better option.
