Waterford Aero Club can help you convert your existing licence into an EASA PPL!
EU residents will no longer be able to fly EASA aircraft, regardless of the aircraft’s sate of registration, in EASA airspace on the basis of an ICAO licence (including CAA and FAA) from June 20th 2022. This includes operating “N-reg” or “G-Reg” aircraft on FAA/CAA licences, respectively. From this date an EASA FCL licence will be required – please see IAA PLAM 036 for more details.
There are two conversion routes available:
1. FAA licence holders can avail of an abbreviated process thanks to a new bilateral agreement between EASA and the FAA; or
2. All ICAO licence holders (including FAA) can avail of the standard ICAO conversion route.
