The Night Rating is an add-on to your licence which allows you to fly during night hours. It is a requirement prior to starting the Commercial Pilot Licence course.
The Night Rating is an extremely popular addition to your license because it is a straightforward course and there is no flight examination at the end. The course requires you to do 5 hours of night flying including 3 hours with an instructor. You must complete 5 solo full stop landings. The dual flight time must include a 50 km dual cross-country. When your flight instructor is satisfied by your night flying, he or she will prepare the paperwork to send to the Aviation Authority.

Please note that this is a guide price only – final cost may vary depending on the amount of touch and goes, etc.
The winter is the best time to obtain the Night Rating because of the long nights and dark evenings.
