Take to the skies with Waterford Aero Club!

30 minute and 60 minute flight experiences in the Sunny South East

Have you ever…

…dreamed of flying an airplane?
…seen your house from 3000 feet?

Whether you want to become a pilot or want to give someone a special and exciting gift, consider nothing less than an Introductory Flight with Waterford Aero Club. Do you want to discover what it’s like to act as pilot in command of an aircraft? Maybe you just want to take photos of your house and show all your friends!

Don’t forget your camera!

Before your Flight Experience, your Instructor will thoroughly brief you on all aspects of safety while in the air and explain how the controls are used to fly the airplane. Flying high over the countryside in our aircraft, you will experience stunning views of the sky and land. If you live locally, you may also be able to fly over your house.

If you are bitten by the flying bug, you can discuss flight training with us for the Light Aircraft Pilot Licence or Private Pilot Licence. In this case, your Flight Experience will be your first loggable flight towards your licence.

Schedule your flight now

We all know the Irish weather isn’t ideal, so your gift voucher is valid for 5 years from its purchase date, giving you plenty of time to schedule your flight on a beautiful, sunny day!

Frequently asked questions

How do I redeem my trial flight gift voucher?

Once you have your gift voucher, email us using info@waterfordaeroclub.com or give our office a call on +353 (0)51 873133. You can schedule a flight slot that suits you.

Will I get to fly the aircraft?

Your flight instructor will give you an introduction to the aircraft flight controls and if you are comfortable they will give you control of the aircraft to perform some basic turns, climbs and descents. This is entirely dependent on your interest level – you may also wish to just sit back and enjoy the experience and take pictures!

Can my friend/parent/sibling accompany me on my trial flight?

Unfortunately not. Regulations state that no gain shall be made from additional passengers.

What happens if I feel sick during the flight?

Most people do not feel unwell during their flight but if you do, your instructor will show you how to deal with this and of course, you will always have the option of returning to the airport and landing to get some fresh air.

What clothes should I wear?

Comfortable clothes are a must! Please wear flat shoes and if it’s a cold day, bring a warm coat. Sunglasses are advisable unless it is very cloudy.

Can I bring a camera?

Yes – you can take photos during your flight. If you take some good ones, make sure to put them on Facebook and Twitter, and tag us!

Can I fly over my house?

If you live locally, your instructor may be able to take you flying over your house. This is subject to airspace and other air traffic.
